Set in Stone

The following topics have been decided upon by the Myths of Atalan Staff and are non-negotiable. Please refrain from discussing them.
We will add to this list as needed. Not reading this post is no excuse, so check back when it is updated.

The XP System
The Staff of Myths of Atalan have decided on a unique xp system to enrich your experience in game. Details on how the system works, XP received at different levels or from various creatures, etc., will not be responded to.

The Death System
The death system has been designed as it is by the staff after much consideration. It will not be going anywhere, nor will XP penalties for dying be reduced.
Ignoring the IC penalties from dying that physically affect your character, is ignoring consequences, and will be dealt with in-game.

The Volatile Magic System
The current magic system in place has been created for a wide number of reasons, from ensuring your character does not believe they are a god, for real IC consequences because of the way magic works in Eramere, and yes, for balance reasons. Its addition is not up to debate; please keep any conversations regarding it In-Character. You may discover something.

DM Shopping
Do not take the same request to multiple DMs. We do talk, and looking for a different response or answer will not help you. If you ever have a complaint, concern, or do not agree with a decision that was made, take it up with a Senior DM or the Lead DM. The only exception to the rule is if you were referred to another DM by the DM you have contacted, or you do not get a response within a few days.

When will a PrC be ready?
It will be ready when it is ready, not before. You can roleplay the journey towards that PrC in game and on the forums, however there is no guarantee at what date or time you might receive access to any class at any time. This includes PrCs that are noted as being completed, as there are in-game requirements your character must undergo, beyond any mechanical requirements.
Note that this still does not mean you can withhold ANY XP, or refrain from leveling.
If there is ever a new PrC introduced when you already have IC confirmation to receive it from a DM from events that have already happened in game, arrangements will be made to ensure that you can take it at that time.

Non Human Racial Areas (and areas in general)
These areas are not off limits to other players unless it has been specifically noted.
You do not have permission to stop people from accessing any area unless it has been cleared by a Senior DM or Admin - unless said character is acting in a harmful manner, or has been banned from the area.
Anyone wishing to attempt to do so, must first clear it with one of the above people, and face any and all consequences in character of doing so.
In return, we expect anyone visiting such areas to treat them with respect, or have this privilege revoked for themselves in one way or another.

Content Exceptions
Rape and child abuse are content exceptions in Myths of Atalan.

Favouritism
The topic of favouritism is brought up on every server. Here on Myths of Atalan, we do all that we can to ensure that all players who are interested in RP are treated fairly, with few exceptions. All significant items are checked by the DM team as a whole, and all events and xp given out are likewise done so as well. I have lost count of how many times items were placed for particular people to find who did not have a lot of items, who then went and gave them to someone who already did. Or DMs wanting to run an event for a player or group, who appear intent on only grinding or cybering at the time. The only meaningful accusation of favouritism is that ALL players continuing from the earlier server were permitted to bring one item of choice that they EARNED from the earlier server. Bringing up accusations of favouritism will only alienate the DM team who do all they can to make sure that their love is spread around to all those who contribute in turn. Remember, we are only volunteers and cannot be everywhere at once.
