The Tir'ehtele Depths: Grand Opening

The Tir'ehtele Depths Await.

http://forums.mythsofatalan.com/index.php?topic=10295.0

It is with great relief, profound feelings of satisfaction and gratitude, and a small amount of pride that I finally announce the completion of a project roughly two years (on and off) in the making: The Tir'ehtele Depths. 12 newly unlocked areas in total, most of which have never been seen before. New creatures, experimental encounter design, rare CNR resources -- and of course, new challenges and new opportunities for role-playing and research.

The difficulty of the areas, much like that of the Tir'ehtele above them, scales up the deeper in you go, and not lightly so. The design intention is that the caves under each section of the Tir'ehtele (Tainted River, Deep Woods, Chasm, and Lost Ruins) are a small-to-medium bump in Challenge Rating from the exterior above them. I will confess that with a project this large there will be sections that are more or less difficult than intended, either because of encounter design or environmental factors, or something else. If I screwed up somewhere, please feel free to tell me. One cannot improve without honest feedback. Generally speaking it was designed to be quite challenging but very rewarding to explore.

Special thanks go to DM Daggershard for his extensive and indispensable work on creature design, and to Valor for a great many hours of playtesting, and for always giving me a place to brainstorm and to bounce ideas around, no matter how crazy.

Although it is cliché, it is also true: it's been a labour of love. I only hope that you enjoy exploring it twice as much as I did making it. I also hope you don't suffer too many unfair deaths.

Early in the morning in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight. One was blind, the other couldn't see, so they chose the devil as the referee.
Back to back, they faced each other; drew their swords, and shot each other. A deaf policeman heard the noise, and soon arrested the two dead boys.

-Many bugs/errors discussed in Bug and Glitch Reports fixed and restaged. A couple remain in progress or under investigation, but responses have been posted.

Please, keep the reports coming in as you find them!
