If you're reading this post than you likely realize that we have started the process of bringing back the server, after almost 3 years absence.
I/we became nostalgic after reinstalling NWN2, and we have more energy & enthusiasm once again, so we decided to recreate the server once again to have some fun as a team!

As ideas progressed over the past 4 weeks, the server slowly progressed from 'lets run a few things just for us', to actually hosting a full server with both staff and players.

There will be quite a few changes to the server before it goes live:

1) The main focus of the server is no longer providing the service of entertainment, but to have fun as a team. You as players are more than welcome to join us; the more the merrier!
We do our best to be fair to all, and we generally love to RP with everyone whether as players or DMs.
However, those who bash staff or always complain are not welcome and will be asked to leave.

2) We will be attempting to focus DM events on High Reaches primarily, so all players have the potential to get involved as much as is possible.
Eventually more events may spread out to various other areas & cities depending on the player population.

3) We are time jumping again. The server was last up in 2012, so we are starting with clean slates and new characters.
Grandchildren etc are possibilities for returning players if they do not want to start completely fresh.

4) In accordance with #3, I am in the process of archiving the forums for a new start. Some topics will remain, some of the archives will be visible to various people, and some archives will not. If there was a specific post you were/are looking for you can PM me and I can take a look for it.

Updates in other areas:

Dev Team
We aim to have crafting up at server start. The Dev team is working on this, along with many other changes that include (but is not limited to) introducing Cloistered Channeler and Bladedancer, reworking how humans work in character creation, and many many more things I don't keep track of myself.

Mapping Team
Mappers are hard at work fixing up High Reaches.There are a few new combat areas in the works, and both Torica and the Orc home area will be very different as well.
There will be hundreds of minor changes for the time jump of course with new npcs etc.

Lore Team
The lore team is working on tons of new/old npcs, significant changes to many areas and cities, and 40 years full of events that happened with some of the current PCs as NPCs, and elsewhere in the world.
The wiki has begun to be edited also, see the wiki announcement thread for more details.

The DM Team/Other Stuff
As noted elsewhere already, we will be removing the current restrictions on taking a native race.
You can still submit a bio for one of those races to get full access to their home forum, their in game store, and starting reputation though.

For PrCs, at least 80% of them no longer require being unlocked by a DM.

Clarification was asked for in regards to the last part of the first bullet point, so I figured I'd post my answer here for clarification, where it's all nice and stickied and easily accessible.

Basically just use common sense, if when you're typing your response and your mindset is "Hey I think they missed this, or I think something like this could be cool." Well, then you probably aren't bashing the staff, but instead providing some constructive feedback. If however you're thinking "F**k these motherf***ers, they're all losers." You're probably not being constructive.

Now, on a side note if you feel there is abuse going on, or have a legitimate complaint feel free file a complaint. Through PMs, to one of us red names, hell. I'll even state it here, send it through me (unless of course it's about me then feel free to send it to one of the other admins) and we will handle the matter internally. That being said, you may never know how we handled said matter, we will not, I repeat will not put our staff members on public display to humiliate them for having a bad day, or making a poor choice. If that staff member is caught cheating, you may see them drop from said staff list, but you won't get any confirmation as to why. (See above.)

We will not tolerate attempts by a player to try and do, what we will not do ourselves, so publicly calling out staff members as (insert expletive here) will certainly see yourself in hot water.

Maer'Havel is just about ready to go, with updates to lore, NPCs, and conversations.
We're working our way through the other races & npcs with lore and the toolset, before finalizing High Reaches.

The Devs appear to have a few new spells & prestige classes in the works too ;)

All native areas in game and out of game have been updated with current NPCs, lore, conversations and more, with the exception of the Orcs (who will be getting a new home as posted in their lore forum & elsewhere).

Work is in progress on Torica, High Reaches, and their associated areas and organizations' areas.

Humans are being revamped if you haven't noticed elsewhere, with 90% of humans being Erameran humans.
Background feats based on your starting location in your history are being tweaked and finalized for all races.

We aim to have a release date posted within the next week or so!

Last few updates are streaming in now, with a few checks to make sure they are working properly we SHOULD be ready within the hour (hopefully about 7pm eastern!) for launch :D

With today's restage, the recent updates in the past 2 days are not limited to, but will include:

*Part of the Knights of the Shield building accessible in Torica with faction store
*Smith now working in Torica
*Other small tweaks to Torica, more coming soon
*GLADTOMU conversation & guild store added to High Reaches (guild hall coming soon)
*High Reaches marketplace ->floating objects & unusual chairs should now be fixed with the return of their missing curb! And other small tweaks. Screenshot or let us know about anything else floating!
*Sewers updated, 2nd section currently accessible as a normal locked door, until levers are working!
*Starting orc hunting ground re-linked to new home.

Torica has been updated, and more loot added to most combat areas!

*Master Marksman PrC is in final testing.
*Fixes to summoning of all kinds, and spells not firing correctly
*Darts are now throwing knives!
*More bugs & floating objects & broken bridges squashed!
*Item appearance changer is in the works too :)

- Sorcerers may now swap a spell every level instead of every other level
- Barbarians now gain Vampiric Regeneration equal to half their class level during Rage
- Barbarians have had their damage reduction progression moved forward; see the in-game class description for details
- The combat XP curve is now reset every time the server is reset

Note that you may need to take a level in Barbarian before the change to damage reduction takes effect.

- Ethereal Visage has had its damage reduction changed from 20/Adamantine to 10/silver. The 25% concealment, immunity to spells of 2nd level or lower, and its modified duration of one minute per level remain unchanged.
- Ghostly Visage had had its damage reduction changed from 5/magic to 5/silver. The 10% concealment, immunity to spells of 1st level or lower, and its duration of one minute per level remain unchanged.
